		<description><![CDATA[In a flash of 1970's culinary brilliance (and, keep in mind, in 1976 suburban New Jersey -- the culinary bar is fairly low), Mom quickly chopped some mushrooms and onions -- did a quick sautee of both, and then smothered the previously seared flank steak in something akin to an inch of "mushroom &#38; onion mulch," covered the whole thing, and stuck it in the oven at a really low temperature and prayed it wouldn't start a fire or devolve into flank jerky over the next 2 and a half hours.

		<description><![CDATA[A croque monsieur is essentially a baked ham and cheese sandwich, with layers of bread, ham, béchamel sauce and Gruyère cheese, baked until the cheese lightly browned and bubbly, and the bread is a combination of chewy, crunchy, and soaked with cheese and béchamel.
